The study takes us back to the news revolution when people first discovered the press as a powerful tool to combat religiously inspired maltreatment, executions, and massacres.

The study re-evaluates the challenges posed to the Empire by the Glorious Revolution, the Jacobite Rebellion, the American Revolution, and Jacobin threats of the late 18th century.
